A small company in the Netherlands, built for households where someone can't eat certain foods.
Why Fuda exists
Fuda exists because the checking work never ends. When someone at your table has a food allergy, coeliac disease, a medical diet or a religious rule, every meal starts with the same questions, and every tool so far has handed those questions back to you. We build the thing that does the checking, and that says so honestly when it can't.
How we work (the six rules)
These are not slogans. Each one costs us something, and each one is testable.
Candour.
We say what was checked, what was not, and when the information was last updated. When our coverage is thin, you see the number, not a rounder one.
Restraint.
One answer, not a list. No dashboards, streaks, scores or nudges. No claim the product cannot stand behind.
Dignity.
You are competent. The product never lectures and never treats a person as a risk. We say “restriction”, we say “you”, and we never say “patients”.
Neutrality.
Nobody pays to be in your answers. If a provider ever pays us anything, it is a flat published fee after you have already decided, the same for everyone. Our terms are public.
Stewardship.
Fuda uses what is already in your house before it recommends spending.
Reliability.
The plan holds. When your week changes, it recomputes and tells you what moved and why.
Where Fuda comes from
Fuda is the fifth build of a company that started in 2023 as a price-comparison app. Two earlier products taught us, with our own research, what does not work: comparison leaves all the work with you, and a chat assistant still asks a tired person to drive. What survived every rebuild is the data: a catalogue of supermarket products and a price history that now runs to millions of observations. In 2026 we put that data to work on the one job nobody had taken: checking food against a household's restrictions, and saying honestly when it can't.
Who builds it
Fuda is built and run by a small team, kept deliberately small, so the rules above stay rules. The people who make the product also onboard the first households personally. And they are accountable for every answer Fuda gives: email hello@fuda.app and you get a reply from someone who works on the product.
