How Fuda checks.
No magic, no promises. Here is exactly what Fuda does with your household's restrictions, where its information comes from, and what it does when it isn't sure.
What you tell Fuda, once
You record each person's restrictions: an allergy, coeliac disease, a medical diet, a religious rule, or simply something someone won't eat. Per person, children included. That's the setup. No questionnaire, no profile-building beyond what changes the answer.
From then on, every recommendation Fuda makes (a recipe, a product at your store, a takeaway option, a restaurant, a snack from your own cupboard) is checked against every person who's eating.
The three results
Every checked item gets exactly one of three results. There is no fourth.

Why Fuda never says “safe”
You'll notice the word “safe” appears nowhere in Fuda. That's deliberate.
Fuda checks recommendations against the food information available to us: ingredient declarations, allergen declarations, what shops and restaurants publish. It cannot know whether a factory line was cleaned, whether a kitchen used a separate pan, or whether a recipe changed yesterday. No app can. Apps that sound certain are borrowing your trust without earning it.
So the label stays leading. For anything serious, you still read the label and you still ask the restaurant. That final check stays yours, and it should. The difference Fuda makes is the size of the job: you're checking the few things it flagged, not every item, every day.

Where the information comes from
Plain answers, kept current:
- Ingredients
- our ingredient database, with allergen information checked row by row. Where a row hasn't been verified yet, items depending on it show “unable to verify”, not a guess.
- Supermarket products
- the allergen and ingredient declarations retailers publish, tied to the exact product by barcode, with weekly price observations since February 2026.
- Restaurants and takeaway
- what venues publish about their menus. Where a venue publishes nothing we can check, you won't see it recommended. Coverage differs per city and grows; we show you the coverage rather than pretend it's complete.
- Freshness
- every result carries the date its information was last updated. Old information is visibly old.

What happens when something is wrong
If you find an item Fuda got wrong, you tell us at hello@fuda.app. We stop relying on the affected result while we investigate the underlying data, and we tell you what we found. Mistakes are handled in the open, because this only works if you can trust the mechanism more than any single answer.
What Fuda is not
Fuda is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat anything, and never makes medical decisions. Which foods are right for a condition is between you and your practitioner. Fuda applies the restrictions you record, and honours preferences you set, for anyone in the household. Your dietitian's advice doesn't compete with Fuda. Fuda is how it survives contact with a busy week.
